Solah Shringar
Bindi
Bindi is the first shringar which symbolises the bride's suhaag. In order to make bindi attractive, it can be decorated with tiny red & white dots encircling it and also by applying over the curves of the eyes.
Sindoor
It also symbolises suhaag and is applied in the parting of the hair.
Maangteeka
Generally made of gold, it is worn in the parting of the hair.
Anjana: kohl
The fourth step in Solah Shringar is the application of kaajal or kohl on the edges of the upper and lower eyelids. This makes the bride's eyes appealing and attractive.
Nath
Nath or the nose ring enhances the bride's beauty and gives her a more traditional look. It hangs from the left nostril and is supported by a gold chain.
Haar
The beauty of the bride's neck is enhanced by adorning a haar or necklace made of gold .It may be embellished with diamonds, pearls or stones.
Karn Phool
Karn phool or ear rings are as ornate as the necklace. Since the ear rings worn by bride are quite heavy, they are supported by a gold chain.
Mehendi
Mehendi is a very significant shringar of the bride. TThe applications of mehendi to the bride's hands and feet is a special pre-wedding ritual in India.
Choodiyan
Colourful choodiyan or bangles made of glass, laakh or gold adorn the delicate wrists of the bride. Traditionally, red bangles are worn at the time of marriage.
Baajuband
Beautifully designed baajuband or armlets are worn on upper arms. Either in a tie-up style or like a bangle and the design is often Mughal, Rajasthani or Jaipuri.
Aarsi
Aarsi is a thumb ring with mirror embedded in it which enables the bride to have a glimpse of herself as well as her life-partner.

Kamarband
Kamarband adorns the slender waist of the bride and is generally made up of gold. It is beautifully designed in various shapes by embedding stones, diamonds, gems etc.
Payal & Bichuas
Payal adorns the ankles. It is a thick chain of silver with group of tiny bells attached to it which creates an enticing sound. Made up of silver, bichuas or the toe rings are worn in the fingers of each foot.
Itra
As a special signature for the occasion, the bride can wear an exotic itra or perfume which will keep her fresh.
Bridal dress
Now comes the bridal dress. Generally of bright colors like red, magenta and gold, it comprises of saree, lehenga, and salwar kurta.
